i have been to both, so i will start with egypt because i know that best. Its scorching in egypt at that time of the year over 100F or 40C. so hot that few can stand to be in the direct sun for long. But there are a number of options for egypt 1 luxor lots of site seeing pools at the hotels but no beaches of course only the nile. Night life is poor but there are good restaurants many hotels with simple live entertainment and its cheap or you could do a nile cruise with site seeing every day and some kind of activity every night, also all inclusive except for drinks. 2 the red sea, more like europe, lots of beach and water sports some night life, most in sharm, but little or no site seeing. unless you take a long coach trip or a short but expensive flight. the other alternative is cairo but that’s typical capital city.

Turkey. there is a great deal to see in turkey in respect of greek and ancient ruins. most of which is a bit of a distance, a coach drive or you can hire a car. more expensive and more european than egypt, lots of night life and beach, but as i say not as exotic as egypt. also while its hot there it is nothing to egypt. I found i could happily cope with turkeys summer climate, but egypt has me rushing for the shade and the factor 50.
i prefer egypt, but suspect that you would prefer turkey from what you say. It just depends on how exotic you like it.

I have never been to Turkey. Egypt was one of the best holidays ever but I believe that it can get to about 50+ degrees at that time so I would rule it out. I like it hot, but 45 is hot for me.

I am currently in Egypt now,not here on vacation though. There are a lot of tourist that come to this area. Google Sharm ‘El Sheik..all the tourist stay in that area. It right by the sea/ocean..Red Sea,to be exact.

i ‘ll tell you both…i am from egypt and i went to so many places in it , alex is great but since it is winter you won’t enjoy it much so i’ll suggest luxor and aswan or hurghada or sharm elshiekh and and those places where you’ll enjoy the sun and the warmth there!
i also went to istanbul and i liked it alot…(i went there in my honey moon).

i’ve never been to egypt but my parents went many years ago, they didn’t really like it because it was too built up for them and they said there wasn’t much to do apart from see the pyramids and camels.
But i have been to turkey twice (past 2 years) and i love it there. it has so many places for shopping for you and your daughter (loads of fake designer stuff too!). There are lovely beaches for you all to enjoy, plenty of activities to do and the temperature then is lovely and hot. Everyone there is so friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Also a cheap destination too. the cleanliness and quality is still excellent.
I’d say go to turkey! – Marmaris in particular very pretty!!!
    hope this helps :)
